1997
Steven and Elizabeth leave their positions in account management, marketing and design at Town & Country Living in NYC to move to San Francisco, Steven becomes Director of Marketing for Keeco and Elizabeth becomes Director of Product Development for Riviera Van Beers. Between them, they create and/or manage close to $500 million in new brands and programs at retailers such as Wal-Mart, Target, Linens ‘n Things and Bed Bath & Beyond. Sadly, their busy schedules only allow them to see each other about four days a month!

2000
Steven and Elizabeth create Thinc in an effort to spend more time together while continuing to do the work that they love.

Wal-Mart signs Thinc (a mere four days old!) to a contract to relaunch a major portion of the Domestics Department.

2001
Haywin Textiles and FUBU hire Thinc to launch the FUBU Home Collection.

Thinc convinces Wal-Mart to launch the first ever year round home program focused on the tween consumer.

2002
Pillowtex hires Thinc to bring the Fieldcrest brand to a new audience.

A Thinc consultancy project produces a program that generates $400 million at retail, a 40% increase over the replaced program.

Thinc outgrows its small design space and relocates into a state-of-the-art design studio in Sausalito, California.

Elizabeth becomes a guest lecturer to both graduate and undergraduate students at Syracuse University.

2003
The Wal-Mart contract is completed and Wal-Mart manufacturers hire Thinc to continue developing existing programs and bring innovation to the world’s largest retailer.

Target signs Thinc to a multi-year contract to create new programs, brands and products across multiple product classifications in soft home, hard home and sporting goods.

Mervyn’s hires Thinc to create style guides in multiple product classifications (including apparel); for two major private brands – Sprockets and Pinkie’s Place.

Edgar joins the Thinc Management team, moving Thinc in to the furniture and home improvement classifications.

Thinc designed Joe Boxer product debuts at KMART

2004
James is promoted to the Thinc Management team, ushering in a new age of technology-aided project management excellence.

Two major home textiles manufacturers, Gertmenian and Louisville Bedding, hire Thinc to relaunch product division efforts on a national level. Both manufacturers turn over branding, positioning, marketing, merchandising and product development to Thinc.

Linens ‘N Things hires Thinc to create the brand identity, as well as the positioning and style guides, for three major new brand initiatives — Hotel Living, Remix and Lush.

Nate Berkus, acting on a recommendation from LNT, hires Thinc to develop his product vision into style guides and actual product design, as well as create the brand identity and positioning for his brand launch.

Thinc develops brand development, brand extension and co-branding strategy presentations for Sports Illustrated and Brown Forman.

2005
Thinc is retained by Shen Tai and Leisure Kingdom to create new product launches in the categories of outdoor furniture, inflatables and seasonal decoratives.

Thinc reaches a multi-year partnership agreement with The Acme Group (Thailand) to become their design and marketing team in the categories of indoor wooden furniture and decorative accessories.

The Nate Berkus Line launches at Linens ‘N Things. The 600 sku program exists as a store-within-a-store concept in all locations.

Thinc reaches a brand and product development deal with Food Network and Jane Pauley Show celebrity chef, Curtis Aikens,

Thinc reaches a brand and product development deal with Trading Spaces star and interior designer Laura Day.

Linens ‘n Things hires Thinc to create the brand identities for three new proprietary brand launches — Modern Accents, Signature Classics and Everyday Basics.

Linens ‘n Things recommends Thinc to one of their manufacturers. That manufacturer hires Thinc to create the brand identity for a new product line introduction, Interiors by Sunham.

Thinc relocates once again to an improved creative space in the heart of San Francisco’s design community.

2006
The Beanstalk Group, the World’s largest licensing company partners with Thinc, strengthening the services offered to their clients. Under this partnership agreement, Thinc becomes an internal creative department for Beanstalk.

River West Brands LLC, a brand acquisition and redevelopment company, partners with Thinc to relaunch several nationally recognized brands.

Thinc becomes a principal and equity partner in Underalls LLC, an intimate solutions apparel company.

Thinc’s furniture division completes an integration agreement with The Acme Group (Thailand) and officially becomes absorbed into The Acme Group USA, a division of The Acme Group.

Thinc reaches a development agreement with Idea Nuova to create products, programs and private label brands, in the home category.

Thinc becomes a principal and equity partner in Avenue Brands LLC, created to relaunch the Bonwit Teller brand.

Thinc reaches a development agreement with wrights to create products, programs and private label brands in the craft category.

Julia joins the management team adding tremendous experience ad expertise to Thinc creative leadership group.
