Thinc is a creative agency specializing in creating diverse
products and ideas that lead to market placement and penetration,
and in interpreting the unique visions of our clients.
We have been entrusted both to create from a blank canvas,
as well as extend the vision of existing brands to new
mediums, product categories and customers. Equally comfortable
with branding, positioning, merchandising, style guides,
and full product development, we are truly a full service
agency.
Thinc has worked directly for some of the world's biggest
and most influential retailers, most notably Wal-Mart,
Target, and Linens 'n Things. In only six years since
our inception, we have been responsible for the creation,
management, or infusion of new ideas and products into
almost $3 billion worth of brands and programs at the
national retail level. We have worked in almost all
areas of soft and hard home goods, and in apparel and
sporting goods as well. We have worked with over fifty
different manufacturers and have had products, programs
and brands placed in over fifteen retailers.
Thinc is built on the principle that design and creative
services are problem solving tools. Using this problem
solving approach on all of our projects, and focusing
on the pre-set objectives of our clients allows us to
easily transition from being a creative lead on one project
to that of a collaborative, interpretive partner and support
team on another. We also specialize in helping teams transition
from a small internal group to a much larger group in
future years.
Both Wal-Mart and Target have used Thinc as a key transition
partner as they have cultivated their internal product
development and design staffs. Not only has Thinc provided
valuable outsourced project management and design innovation,
but we have also shared our insight on how to run a large
design team and helped our clients build their own internal
systems.
Thinc's primary design studio is a state of the art facility
in San Francisco, California. Benefiting from the diverse
San Francisco Bay Area design community, our team is comprised
of people with experience from retailers and manufacturers
such as Pottery Barn, Esprit, Mervyn's, Williams-Sonoma,
Gymboree, Disney, Levi's, Keeco, Karen Neuberger, and
many others. Thinc also has a satellite office in New
York City, and a financial and legal office in Boston.
